Keeping myself busy with cotton

Where does inspiration come from?

For me, often from fabric. I enjoy the process of using fabric as a building block in my knitted pieces and then going through my stash built up over decades to see what I can use for a specific piece. You know that feeling of going through your stash and finding little jewels that go perfectly with what you plan to do? (Often I don’t even remember where I got it from.)

Well, this is not what inspired me here.

I added a crochet border to the knitted blanket.

It was simply a question of: what on earth can I do with all this very thin cotton yarn?  A lot of it I dyed myself over many years. And it was taking up too much space.

I have knitted many blankets over the years, and knitting them in strips à la Horst Schultz have become something of a trademark of mine.

So I was simply having fun. And it kept me busy for a while.

This blanket is large enough for a queen-sized bed.
